Some people consider getting married on birth-dates or holidays. Although this seems romantic, I would seriously think about the future. You would always be celebrating your anniversary on these days. Getting married on Valentines Day cheats you out of a romantic holiday every year for the rest of your life because you will celebrate two on one day!

The time of year plays an important role in wedding date planning. Obviously if the couple lives in the Northeast, an outdoor wedding would not be reasonable in the winter months. On the other hand, a summer or fall wedding in the Northeast would be beautiful. One thing to keep in mind if you are planning a wedding during peak season in your area is early planning. If all the hotels and churches are booked by the time you start planning, then you may have to postpone or change the date you had in mind. If saving money is an important aspect of your plans, you may want to consider planning the wedding during off-season. You could save on flowers, catering, and photography during these times.

Peoples own life and family schedule plays in choosing a wedding date. Since planning a wedding takes time, it’s not a good idea to plan it around a too busy time of work year schedule. Think about what is going on around you and those who will be involved with the wedding planning. Although you won’t be able to work around everyone’s schedule, at least you know what you’re up against.
